Arizona Christmas Activities | Phoenix, Arizona | Phoenix Wedding Photographer

If you’re looking to plan some fun Christmas activities in the Phoenix area, this blog is for you! (or if you just want to see some pictures of me as a kid, that’s cool too – ha!) I’m about to unpack three of my favorite Arizona ’tis the season’ events that I experienced growing up that are STILL some of my favorite winter memories to date!

First Up: a stay at the Arizona Mountain Inn Cabins located in Flagstaff, one mile east of the I-17! Back in 2001, my family and I stayed in an adorable a-frame cabin for the weekend, complete with a wood burning stove and loft! (scroll to see pictures of my sisters and I from our trip to there, 17 years ago! Yup, I’m the kid with bangs halfway up my forehead.) I STILL have memories of sledding just outside our cabin, sleeping in the loft with my sister and trying to warm our hands over the stove after building a snowman. The best part? Arizona Mountain Inn has several different cabins to choose from, ranging from family reunion size to single family! (plus, it’s an escape from the warm Phoenix weather – chances are pretty high of there being snow in Flagstaff this time of year!)

Next Up: a trip to Williams, Arizona for a ride on the Polar Express via the Grand Canyon Railway! Everything from the jammy-wearing, to the hot cocoa and sleigh bells makes this trip one of a kind (and so fun for all ages!). The train ride lasts 90 minutes roundtrip, with a stop at the North Pole and a visit from Santa. I wasn’t able to find pictures of the time I rode on this magical train (a loooong time ago!), but I snagged a few from Polar Express Grand Canyon Railway website…scroll to see some of the magic!

Last Stop on this Arizona Christmas Events blog: Glendale Glitters! I went to this event SO many times when I lived in Arizona growing up and am planning to go back this upcoming weekend now that I live in the area again! It’s located in downtown Glendale (N 58th Ave & W Glendale Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301), and filled with caroling, performances, street vendors and thousands upon thousands of Christmas lights. They have activities for small kids, beer tasting for the adults and fun for all (man, that was cheesy – ha!) It’s perfect for date night or a night out with the family and SURE to get you all into the Christmas spirit.

Whatever you end up doing this holiday season, be near the ones you love – ENJOY!
