These cuties met online in 2015, on accident! After their first conversation consisted of venting to one another as total strangers about past relationships, they then later decided to date long distance while Zak was living in Canada. Kimberly and Zak ended the long distance by getting married last October in Sedona at the Church on the Rock! Unfortunately, their wedding images didn’t turn out how they were hoping – resulting in them not having many pictures from the day of their wedding. They decided that they wanted to hop back into their wedding day clothes for their one year anniversary and get the Flagstaff Fall wedding images that they’ve wanted since day one!
Their Favorite Adventure
One of their favorite memories together happened before they even decided to get married! They said: “We’d started dating Jan’16, and we were planning to meet Mar’16 during my spring break. Well, I got into a rollover accident in Feb and totaled my car. After much discussion, Zak was convinced he had to buy me a car. Eventually, I agreed, and he bought a car in Canada and, in Mar, he drove it down to Flagstaff over the course of three days to meet me for the first time – with flowers, too! Then, we took a short trip out to California. Zak’s from a really small town of 15,000 people [growing up in a town of 5,000 before that] and this was actually his first time out of that immediate area – all of a sudden he went from only knowing the few cities next to him to traveling all across the US!”
Zak then later proposed to Kimberly in the SWEETEST way (he actually forgot to get down on one knee!). Kimberly said: “Zak’s proposal was fairly sweet and simple, which I loved! He made me a scrapbook with pictures of us and letters and cute notes and such. After work one day, he took me over to the living room and handed me this scrapbook to read together and proposed right after that! Then we grabbed some coffee from Where U Bean, still one of our favorite places, and took some pictures at South Mountain! He was so nervous he actually forgot to get down on one knee, lol!”
Kimberly and Zak eventually want to move to Canada to live a slow, quiet life full of gaming and coffee dates. Throughout their entire time with me for their session, they were so present and in the moment. It’s apparent how much they mean to one another and that they love to simply just be next to each other. Man, was it incredible to witness.
