Maggie and Vince became one this past Saturday at Hudson Farm in Urbana, Illinois. Friends, it was the sweetest of days! It was such a joy and honor to be there capturing each and every moment of their big celebration of love.
Enough about me though! Here’s the inside scoop about Maggie and Vince and their perfect May wedding day:
They met through mutual friends, who both were apart of their wedding party this past weekend! Guys, get this – Maggie and Vince didn’t hit it off at first! She said that he didn’t really catch her eye or feel an immediate spark. However after hanging out a few more time, they became inseparable!
Vince and Maggie got engaged when on a walk with their two boxers pups at Dowel Park back in her hometown of Mahomet. Vince knew that it was one of Maggie’s favorite places as a kid, since it’s where she used to play softball. Maggie said that as soon as he started talking really fast and bringing up random things, that she knew something was off. Before she knew it, he was down on one knee asking her to marry him.
They two of them LOVE anything to do with dogs (you’ll have to check out their cute cake topper!). They own a dog grooming business called ShamPooches Mobile Dog Bathing & More together so they hang around pups all day long. Once their done with work for the day, they always take their dogs out to play! Vince and Maggie also love watching their favorite shows while sharing a meal and finding fun getaway vacation spots.
Maggie went to several different dress shops before deciding on her gorgeous lace dress from Davids Bridal! Once she put on the dress she wore for her wedding, she knew it was the one because it really hit her that she WAS going to be getting married!
The two of them have a great story behind choosing their venue. Maggie says that “One day Vince and I were driving through the country on our day off just cruising around and listening to music and we came across this farm house but it had like a million cars there. So I googled what it was and it popped up as Hudson Farm Wedding Venue and I made a joke to him about how this should be our wedding venue when we get married (this was before we were engaged). Who knew it actually would be!”
The inspiration behind their wedding theme was a combination of two things: the rustic, summery feel of Hudson Farm and the idea of “cold lemonade on a warm sunny day”. Guys, their day was exactly that! Though there had been a forecast of thunderstorms for their big day in the weeks leading up to it, the weather cleared just in time. We ended up having a warm, clear day the entire afternoon and evening! Maggie, Vince and loved ones created incredible DIY elements! They made all of their centerpieces, the elements for their lemonade stand, the cake table items and each yellow and grey decor item throughout the reception barn (you have got to check all of them out, they did an incredible job!)
When I asked Maggie what three words she would use to sum up their big day, she said that “perfect, memorable and not long enough.” Man, if those three words are what you would use to describe your wedding day, I would say it was a darn good one.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. D’Urso! Happy Honeymoon, you two.
