Yesterday, I met up with Rachel and Ryne at Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters to catch the sunset. They told me stories from their wedding that was held at that exact location, several years ago (we even reenacted their ‘first look’ pictures!). I had such a blast hearing all about their big day and the memories they’ve shared since then. They even told me about how Ryne won Rachel over by loudly singing a song at a wedding they were both in!!
If you haven’t already guessed, they met each other through their best friends. They were both in their friends wedding party and got to know each other throughout the wedding day! After they had dated for a bit, Ryne took her to dessert at the melting pot for her birthday with plans to propose. After they ate dessert, they walked down to a nearby courtyard that was decorated with Christmas lights before he got down on one knee to ask Rachel to marry him. Her reaction? “I, of course, cried and said yes!”
Their wedding was held at Old Hickory Golf Club on September 4, 2011(which is totally why we did their anniversary session there!). Rachel said that she had the perfect dress; it was the Snow White Dress from the 2011 Disney Wedding Line! Doesn’t that sound like an absolute dream? She even said that they are total kids at heart – they love going to the zoo and going on trips to Disney World with each other! In fact, going to Disney with their new little family of three is even on their ‘must do’ list of things to do together.
Rachel and Ryne told me that their favorite part of marriage is always having each other there to live life with. She said “It’s cheesy, but the last six years have turned us into best friends and it’s such a blessing.”
Their most memorable moment of their marriage so far? It’s “the journey to having Blake (their little one!) and the memories we made when she was arriving.” Rachel told me that married life together is 100% a hard but love-filled journey.
Even thought Matt and I don’t have kids yet, I already know it will become our favorite part of our marriage. Until then, we will just keep on loving our puppy like she is our child.
