Man, was this engagement session a wild ride!! After battling crazy wind, rain and dust all day, the sky cleared up just in time for Mackenzie and Kyle’s Phoenix Mountain engagement session!! These guys have such an incredible story, I can’t wait for you to read about it. Here we gooooo:
HOW THEY MET
“We met on Tinder (lol). I swiped past him probably two or three times before giving him a swipe left! We matched and talked for a few weeks before meeting for the first time. We were supposed to meet for a brunch date and last minute he switched plans and told me to come to his house! He said “I might be in the shower when you get here, so here’s the code for my door” (who does this, I could of been crazy). I walked into his house seeing him making me breakfast and was instantly infatuated with him.. Since I didn’t know if he was a creep or not I had made plans to go to yoga right after brunch as an excuse to leave. He texted me and asked me to go for supper later that night and the rest is history! He left for Thailand with a friend for a few weeks but once he came back we have been inseparable ever since.”
“It was our second day at Havasupai Indian Reservation on our 4 day 3 night adventure. We decided to do the hike to Beaver falls which was a few miles from our campsite. When we got there it was absolutely breathtaking and luckily there was only us and one other solo guy. Kyle and I both got individual photos standing in the cascading waterfalls. He then asked the solo traveler to take a photo of us together standing in the waterfalls. We started walking out to the middle of the falls and Kyle was walking really slowly behind me. I turned around once I reached the middle to see where he was and he was knelt behind me waist deep in freezing cold water asking me to marry him with the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. The guy who was taking our photo started yelling “WHATS YOUR PASSWORD?!” He had missed the picture perfect moment of Kyle asking me, I was crying and then immediately laughing and started to yell the password back to him. Kyle got back on one knee and “redid” the proposal for a photo. It was seriously the most perfect moment of my life and made it even more memorable that the guy missed the photo haha. I got to relive my proposal twice. Kyle is not an emotional guy and even he could hardly get the “will you marry me” words out while he was trying to hold back tears.”
“We have SO many amazing memories together. But the best adventure yet would be our trip to Havasu just because it was a once in a lifetime trip for us, it was something that had been a bucket list item for the both of us. We were able to cross it off together and we got engaged! Another awesome adventure was when we bought our house and got our first dog, Bodhi together. These happened within a week of each other and it was one of the best weeks of my life!
We enjoy pretty much anything outdoors, hiking, rock climbing, ice skating, mountain/dirt biking, spending time with our pups. We also go to a lot of hockey games in the winter time and love to road trip in the summer time!
We are both avid travelers and love to explore new places! We are really looking forward to our honeymoon together and are in the process of planning a trip to Indonesia and Singapore.”
These Canadian babes are so awesome and such a rad time to hang with. I’m absolutely stoked for their upcoming 2020 elopement at Superstition Mountain!!
