Last Saturday, I drove to Connersville, Indiana to join in the celebration of Joe and Michelle’s wedding day. Their ceremony was held outside in Roberts Park with their reception hall close by. Their reception venue, John H. Miller Hall, boasted large chandeliers, tall columns and walls of windows creating plenty of beautiful lighting. We had the most perfect of weather throughout their entire day too – although they held their ceremony outside in the middle of June, it was hardly hot outside! I loved photographing all of the details in their reception hall simply because they were all crafted with so much love from their families. Joe’s Grandma Cindy was their florist and did an absolutely incredible job creating the bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces and ceremony decor. When I say that Michelle’s dress from David’s Bridal is my most absolute favorite of the 2017 wedding season, I mean it! The key-hole, lace back was breathtaking and the little buttons were to die for. The front of her dress had the most delicate of lace sleeves and details. She simply looked stunning! Enough about my thoughts on their big day though – I want to tell you all about Michelle and Joe’s first date story, because I promise it’s a good one.
Michelle and Joe went to high school together, but they didn’t start dating until their first year of college (Michelle was a pharmacy student at Cedarville University and Joe was a computer graphics and web design major at Purdue University!). Michelle told me that their relationship started out a little rough. She didn’t like him at first, but she said that he was persistent. She slowly changed her mind and began to realize what an incredible guy he is! Okay – fast forward to their first date: she fainted, and then also threw up. Can you believe it? She said that they went ice skating and she fainted while they were skating! They then went to the Art Museum and she got sick to her stomach and tossed her cookies. Talk about an eventful date! They’ve now been together for over 2 years – it sounds like fainting and throwing up on a first date is the way to go!
Needless to say, these two are the absolute sweetest and have such a deep love for one another. Editing their wedding pictures made me so happy because you can SEE their love for each other. The looks on their faces are pure joy. Don’t believe me? Check them out below.
