Maritza and Koal met up with me down in Tuscon for their San Xavier Mission engagement session and DANG was the night beautiful! The incredible texture of the church combined with the grandeur of the detail was absolutely mind blowing. It proved to be the perfect spot for their engagement session, and even set the scene for their November Spanish-glam wedding.
These cuties met in high school (freshman year) in English class! Martiza said: “As soon as he walked through the classroom door, we instantly caught eyes and I got major butterflies. Before we knew it, we were passing notes in class and talking on the phone for hours and it’s all history from there.” Koal then pulled off a major surprise proposal for Maritza a few years later. Here’s the details: “I was under the impression we were having an 80’s Christmas party for his sister who was going back to Paris but turns out Koal had other plans. As soon as we were going to take a big group picture, Koal grabbed my hand, pulled me in front of our family and friends, and got down on one knee. I was speechless but so happy I couldn’t stop smiling. The best moment of our lives that I will cherish forever.”
They love to travel and go camping, and even have decided that one of their favorite adventures to date was the first time they camped together. Maritza said: “We had the best time off roading, sharing memories by the fire, and cuddling beneath the stars. We became really close after this trip and realized how much we really loved each other.”
Their Upcoming Wedding
I asked Maritza what her favorite part about planning their wedding has been. Guys – her response seriously brought tears to my eyes!! Check it out: “Planning every little detail about this day has been super exciting for the both of us! But I think the part we really look forward to knowing our family and friends are going to be there beside us during this special time. We love all the memories we’ve made and will make during this wedding planning process! We especially enjoyed the engagement session!! Allison, we absolutely loved you and your talent for capturing the raw emotion between two people. Your passion speaks volumes through your photos and we are SO grateful for you. Your work is truly magical and brought me to tears. Thank you so much!! We will never forget you or the way you made us feel.”
Man, talk about all the feels. I’m so, so grateful for these two and cannot wait to celebrate them even MORE for their wedding day next month! It’s going to be so incredible.
