Travis and Jessica met up with me for their Sequoia National Park Adventure Session a few weeks back and HOT DANG was it incredible. I’ve been to several natural waterfalls in my life, but man was it a sweet view to walk up to this falls and natural swimming pool after a 2.5 mile hike! For my first time in Sequoia National Park, I’d say we hit a home run with this location.
Jessica and Travis met several years back through a mutual friend that set them up on a jogging date! After a crazy experience in college of being caught in a rip tide together during a coastal storm, Jessica truly realized how much she needed and wanted Travis in her life. Here’s how Travis proposed: “I got the ring and I was looking at it everyday getting nervous. One day we were changing out of swim suits in my bedroom, and I kinda just blurted it out. I said something along the lines of long walks on the beach and peach smoothies forever. Since I blurted, I wasn’t on one knee and Jessica made me redo it. The whole thing was a nervous awkward love kinda thing.”
They had a small twenty-people wedding on Travis’ Grandparents property in Three Rivers. They exchanged their vows on the balcony that overlooked the river! Jessica said that she wore her mothers wedding dress, and that their flowers were lavender and thistle just to add some pop of color. Since then, Jessica and Travis spend their time going on hikes together, taking their fur babies to the dog park and working on their land (they’re currently renovating an old farm house into a home!). They have a scratch-off map of the world and have a goal of scratching off each location on the map!
These two babes were such a joy to be around and I absolutely loved hearing their story. Plus when I found out that they were game for jumping into the ICE COLD natural pool, I knew we would be get along well.
